Welcome to your Learner Profile!
The Learner Profile is designed to empower students to take control of their learning journey. In this article, we will provide an overview of the key features and benefits of the Learner Profile.
What is the Learner Profile?
The Learner Profile is a digital platform that enables students to document, reflect on, and showcase their learning experiences and accomplishments. It is a central hub where students can set goals, track progress, and connect with their teachers and mentors. By putting students in the driver's seat, the Learner Profile
- Empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey
- Fosters self-directed learning and critical thinking skills
- Enhances communication and collaboration between students and their mentors
- Streamlines goal-setting and progress tracking
- Facilitates the creation and sharing of student portfolios
Key Features of the Learner Profile
- "About Me" Section: This personalised section allows students to introduce themselves, share their interests, and highlight their strengths. It is a space for them to express their identity, aspirations, and passions while serving as a starting point for goal-setting and reflection.
- Goal Setting & Tracking: Students can set short-term and long-term academic, personal, and career goals within the Learner Profile. The platform guides students through the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goal-setting process and provides tools to monitor their progress towards each goal.
- Guided Reflection Prompts: The Learner Profile includes regular reflection prompts designed to help students think critically about their learning experiences. These prompts encourage students to analyse their progress, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate their accomplishments.
- Check-ins with Mentors: The platform facilitates regular check-ins between students and their assigned mentors (teachers, counselors, or other staff). These check-ins serve as an opportunity for students to discuss their goals, progress, and challenges while receiving guidance and support from their mentors.
- Project Portfolios: Students can use the Learner Profile to create digital portfolios showcasing their best work and achievements. These portfolios can be shared with teachers, parents, and potential employers or college admissions officers, demonstrating the student's growth and skills.
